We are very grateful for our generous grant funding!

Bells of the Cascades is thrilled to announce that we have newly been awarded grant funding by the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) in addition to the ongoing support we have received from the Oregon Arts Commission (OAC) for the past several years.

Our mission for over 35 years has been to advance the art of handbell ringing through performance and education. We currently offer two concert weekends in May/June and December of each year. In addition, we conduct Read & Ring events in August specifically for handbell ringers, and we bring small groups of Holiday Ringers to private events in November and December.

From RACC, we were just awarded a $1K grant from their funding of $30,000 allocated from Washington County to support cultural events and arts programming that are slated for public presentation between May and August of 2026. We submitted our June concert performances of “When All Else Fails…” that we are doing in collaboration with Pikes Peak Ringers and many additional musicians from our local area.

Here are more details about the purpose of this grant and the outstanding company we are keeping!

The OAC funding we have received for several years has been from their Sustaining Arts Program and we have been extremely grateful each year to receive approximately $2.3K for this multi-purpose, open-ended operating support, which allows us to decide the best possible use for these funds. The article linked here is a wonderful look into the realities of this program.

With the ambitious program we are putting together this year for June, which by its nature involves exponentially more costs than we normally incur, we have infinite gratitude for the kinds of arts community support we have been able to receive this year in particular!
