Bells of the Cascades is about to embark upon its 35th Anniversary in 2024-25. Here’s an exciting new project that you can be involved in to help us celebrate! BOC is creating a COMMISSION CONSORTIUM for a new composition from our director, Matthew Compton!

What is a Commission Consortium?  This is a way for any individual or organization to buy into a larger project for a much smaller cost than a traditional commission. Bells of the Cascades will work with Matthew to create a brand new original Level 3 handbell composition. This piece will be accessible to many different types of ensembles who will enjoy being a part of this exciting community project. All funds from the consortium will go to BOC for our ambitious $10,000 fundraising goal for our 35th Anniversary in the 2024-2025 season, and we know that with your participation, we can reach this goal!

Bells of the Cascades will premiere the composition during our Anniversary weekend of May 31-June 1, 2025.

Commission Details

• An exciting Level 3 original composition for 3-7 octaves of handbells and handchimes.
• Approximate performance length of 3-5 minutes.
• $150 buy-in cost with additional tiers and benefits for larger donation amounts, due by March 1, 2025.
• Commissioner name on the final score.
• Score will be delivered to all commissioners by August 1, 2025.
• Performance exclusivity for all commissioners until August 1, 2026.
